A great place for a great house. Designed by our in-house architect to the owner’s specifications, and constructed on a semi-basement, this house takes full advantage of its stunning location – even the bath has a view!

The Meisterstueck Experience:

“We decided to build our own house because, after many renovation projects both in the UK and abroad, we wanted finally to be in direct control of both design and construction. As a lawyer involved in Town & Country Planning for many years, I had watched the concept of sustainable construction emerge and develop; building sustainably is a recognition that climate change is a real factor, here and now, and also of course brings the tangible benefits of low running costs.

So we set to work to research sustainable building methods, and it appeared to us that the Germans were way ahead in the field. We investigated 4 German house construction companies in some depth, and concluded that Meisterstueck-HAUS were easier to deal with and more prepared to adapt to our particular requirements.

The whole process was fascinating, rewarding and ultimately successful. One of the many highlights for us was the visit to the factory, to discuss our project with their design team. The only thing we would have done differently was the fit-out of the house; we chose to do this ourselves, and it would have been better to have had a site manager to oversee and control the various sub-contractors.

We have been living in the house for a while now, and have been delighted since the day we moved in. No worries about draughts, damp, leaks or construction faults - life is very comfortable. We love the light from the large glass areas – although we do not have much wall space for our paintings!”
